Hole #3 is Ekwanok C.C. in Manchester, VT. Oil on canvas 9"x9" $100. The seasons are changing and it a glorious time of year to be playing golf up north. Every turn of the fairways brings a new view of mother nature working her magic with the colors in the trees and in the sky. Number 9 at Brancaster. Oil on canvas. 9"x9" $100. This hole reminds me of the 17th at Sawgrass. You're either on the green or you're in trouble. I love how the light directs your focus to the target. And all of the bad areas fall into shadow. Your attention is definitely on the green, as it should be.

Why I Paint And Play Golf

My inspiration for painting golf courses, as well as playing golf is the beauty of the lighting, shadows, textures of the grasses, sky, water, bunkers, trees, wildlife etc, etc. All of the features that blend the beauty of nature and the game together. I like to take creative license in my paintings using bright vivid colors. I'm also trying to teach my self to work in broader brushstrokes. When playing golf there's a lot of creativity involved in getting to the finish. Playing different types of shots in different types of conditions. Whatever it takes to get the end result. Hopefully you'll see the creativity displayed in my brushstrokes as I create a new hole each week. I hope you enjoy them.

The first hole is # 7 at Bambougle Dunes which is located in Tasmania, Australia. This oil paining is 18"x24" and is for sale for $350. I'll be creating a new oil painting of a different hole from a different course each week.
